GET INVOLVED IN RAILROADING TODAY!

TRAIN & ENGINE CREWS

The Legacy of the Black River & Western Railroad is a dedicated group of volunteers which have been staffing the railroad's passenger excursion trains since 1965. If you would like to be trained and qualified as a Trainman or Brakeman with the opportunity of promotion to Conductor/Engineer, contact Superintendent C.J.Hoffman. No prior railroad experience required.

STEAM LOCOMOTIVE OVERHAUL

Volunteer work is underway on the inspection and repair of Black River & Western Railroad Steam Locomotive #60. There is no better way to learn and understand the mechanics and operation of a steam locomotive than to participate in the overhaul process.

Contact Paul Nicholson or stop by Ringoes most weekends.

LIVING HISTORY

If your interest in trains is more historical than operational, the Black River Railroad Historic Trust has several ongoing projects including the conversion of a New York Central baggage car into a museum display car and the cosmetic restoration of a unique Mack Industrial locomotive.
